The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International has an exciting opportunity in our Knowledge Management Department as a Senior Information Analyst. This position is located at APCO International’s Headquarters  in Daytona Beach, Florida.

APCO International is the world’s oldest and largest organization of public safety communications professionals and supports the largest U.S. membership base of any public safety association. It serves the needs of public safety communications practitioners worldwide - and the welfare of the general public as a whole – by providing complete expertise, professional development, technical assistance, advocacy and outreach.   Our members manage, operate, build and support public safety communications systems for law enforcement, fire, emergency medical and other public safety agencies. 

The Position: 
The Senior Information Analyst serves as a subject matter expert for APCO’s software products supported by the Knowledge Management Department.  Responsible for analyzing data processing problems and providing solutions by programming software, implementing software upgrades, or developing new programs.  Responsibilities include Salesforce administration, programming in an SQL environment, MRS report writing, current system documentation, development of implementation plans, and development of requirements.

General Description of Essential Job Tasks: 
The following are general descriptions of the essential job tasks of the position. Other related tasks may be assigned as necessary and appropriate. 
 
  • Administer Salesforce including implementation of quarterly updates, adding/removing users, and developing solutions based on user needs. 
  • Develop and implement test plans/scenarios to ensure the successful delivery of a project. 
  • Lend support to various business teams as necessary during design, development, and delivery to ensure solid, scalable, robust solutions. 
  • Accurately assess the risks associated with each solution design/project. 
  • Support the development of team members from a professional and technical level. 
  • Serve as project manager on technology projects that integrate with relational databases. 
  • Respond to assigned helpdesk support tickets in a timely fashion coordinating with external vendors as necessary to achieve resolution. 
  • Develop a data audit plan (prevent duplicates, training, data deduping processes). 
  • Lead testing of fixes, patches, service packs, and upgrades. 
  • Support ongoing integration amongst data systems, web services including communications, communities, and other interactive online platforms.
  • Administer Association ticketing system. 
  • Build knowledge to decrease reliance on outside vendors.
  • Represent the company in professional and manufacturers' user groups. 
  • Collaborate with vendor(s) to implement new functionality or software systems and work with vendor(s) to perform system upgrades. 
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define business requirements, re-engineer business processes and assist along with the Information Technology department in developing custom solutions.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of selected solutions. 
  • Maintain up-to-date end-user documentation and standard operating procedures. 
  • Develop and lead end-user training to support new and updated application functionality. 
  • Keep abreast of developments in current and future software solutions. 

Minimum Experience Requirements :
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience in designing, developing and generating reports from a relational database application
  • Three years’ experience leading teams as a project manager and/or a business analyst
  • SQL, MRS, Salesforce Administration experience 
  • Solid understanding of the principles of database design, implementation, and business process workflow
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Strong business and systems analysis skills, test planning and testing skills, troubleshooting skills and experience with numerous environments and architectures
  • Experience with requirements management and use of case and modeling tools

Additional Preferred Experience: 
  • AMS, Community Brands NetForum, CRM experience preferred 
  • PMP, BA, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred 



APCO International offers a comprehensive benefit program including a 401K plan.  
Compensación: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
